I think that analyzing the world with fives themes of geography help people better understand connections between people and earth because when you are using the five themes of geography you can help show how people are getting around the world with movement. You can show where a certain area is with location. With region you can show what is within a certain area. With Place you can pinpoint a certain thing or building and with human and environment interactions u can see how people change, adapt to and use the environment.
I think that Location is the hardest because you have to find relative and absolute location and with relative and absolute location you have to pinpoint the exact coordinates of a certain place and you have to show the directions of where it is. Also with relative and absolute location u have to find the geological distance between two areas.

Re-reading your posts before you publish them might help. I also agree with you that analyzing the five themes of geography help people understand the connections between people and Earth. ReplyDeleteI disagree that location is the hardest theme of geography. It can be tough at times but I am mostly alright with it. However, I believe movement is the hardest theme of geography. I think that movement is the hardest theme of geography because in a place or a city or a town or anywhere really, you have to look for certain things that indicate movement. For me the part of movement that I particularly struggled with, was movement of ideas. This seriously troubled me because I did not understand it at first but once I went back onto the ¨Five themes of geography”document in my Google Drive, I reviewed the demonstration of movement of ideas, this helped me out a LOT, because I got a better understanding of the subtopic, I was able to more clearly and mentally understand movement of ideas. Movement of people and movement of goods, can sometimes be difficult to find, but if you study and research the topics, and subtopics enough it will work out. This shows you just need determination and perseverance you can accomplish anything!

DeleteI agree about how people interact with each other by connections around the world and that all of the 5 themes are important, too. I disagree with location being the hardest because I found easier than other themes. Location can be hard sometimes, for instance finding the coordinates or sometimes the relative location of one place from another.
ReplyDeleteIn your location paragraph I found myself wondering what location was. I think you switched Absolute location and Relative location. Absolute location is the exact location of a place using coordinates and longitude and latitude. Relative location is using cardinal directions and other places to show where a place is.
